I’m Tired of Existing to Make Other People Comfortable…Who’s With Me?

Want to know what people have generally, historically reflected back about me? That I’m sweet and friendly.

Sweet? Oh, darling. I’ve home-birthed two children, sat in numerous soul-shattering plant medicine ceremonies that have brought every ounce of my childhood terror to the surface, I’ve walked into my darkest shadows, I’ve faced every trigger for the past seven years on this motherhood journey with the courage of a fucking spiritual warrior…and you think I’m “sweet?”

The Problem with Being the “Sweet” One:

Being sweet is a mask. (One that I’ve worn myself, one that I continue to remind myself not to pick up and don because it’s just so damned familiar.)

It’s an identity that keeps us safe. It also keeps us SMALL. If you want to step into a bigger, more abundant, more expansive existence, it isn’t about just phoning in your dreams like you’re ordering takeout. That’s not how the formula works. First, you need to expand to be able to hold them.

When Love is Somewhere Out There:

The thing about loving more isn’t about loving all of THEM.

It’s about loving YOURSELF.

What does that even look like:

Loving yourself enough to confront someone who hurt you.

Loving yourself enough to fight back when something is unfair or a boundary has been crossed.

Loving yourself enough to claim what is yours.

Loving yourself enough to make space to connect with your inner voice.

Loving yourself enough to tell someone when they've let you down, or kept you small.

Loving yourself enough to say, “No.”

Loving yourself enough to ask for space for your pleasure practice.

Loving yourself enough to carve out time to be alone in your own house.

Loving yourself enough to work toward your goals.

Loving yourself enough to make space to purge your house.

Loving yourself enough to center your own needs and dreams and pleasure.

Loving yourself enough to drop the masks and identities that are keeping you from being your whole, messy, human self.

The thing about being the "sweet" one is that she's afraid, and, with good reason, she feels like she has a lot to lose: her reputation, her partner, her friends, her family. I mean it really feels like it's all on the line...

But, fear is always a shadow energy that we can choose to embody or choose to overcome. Fear is not an enemy to destroy, but a shadow frequency that contains a hidden gift and a higher spiritual purpose waiting to be unlocked.

When we move from an energy of fear, we distort our whole reality with this thread of shadow. When we move from a place of power and capacity and fearlessness, we inspire others to match our vibration...or not.

Be warned. Not all relationships will rise to the occasion. This is a severing. And, this is the price of liberation.

Join us this weekend for a women's gathering and family potluck. The invitation is to burn what holds you back from returning to yourself and to your wholeness.

Save your seat here or book a six-month container for diving deep into uncovering your shadows and activating your expansion.
