I Never Want to Come Back To Your Women's Circle.

Dear Jillian,

I came to one of your women's circles a few months ago, and, frankly, I won't be coming back. It was awful. I cried in front of a bunch of strangers–how mortifying...and I mean, I just couldn't stop crying. So much guilt and shame and awfulness came bubbling up...especially around how I treat my children. And afterward, everyone seemed like it was totally normal, but it wasn't normal for me. I was humiliated. I never want to have that experience ever again.

Utterly Humiliated,

Lonely Mama

Dear Lonely Mama,

Thank you so much for letting me know. I'm so sad to hear how much unexpressed grief you've been carrying around. That must feel really heavy to carry all on your own.

I definitely won't try to persuade you into anything that doesn't feel like it serves your best and highest good....you're the expert on your own path and process. Though I am curious if you've considered if you have any other safe places where these emotions can come up to be expressed so that you're not carrying them around alone.

As you probably already know, repressed emotions have a correlation with chronic dis-ease on all levels, they can poison your relationships, and leak out with the people you love the most. Repressing all of that also takes a heck of a lot of life force energy which could be used for so many other much more beautiful things in this big beautiful world we live in.

If life isn't feeling big and beautiful to you right now, it might just be that you need to let little bits of that poison out.. however you can. Local women's circles are a low-cost, highly effective form of community healing where you are empowered to speak your truth, to be seen and accepted as you are, and to lean into your own internal wisdom.

The thing about women's gatherings is that, really, it's all welcome. They're one of the only spaces where you can bring your complete, messy, unreasonable, BIG self...and that alone is a practice for most of us.

Interestingly, what your children also need most from you– to break that generational trauma that I know you're so motivated to break–is this same loving presence. Which is much easier to offer when you're also receiving in this same loving way. Where nothing needs to be different or fixed. Where you're just able to just be with them in the midst of it, to allow them to express their anger, rage, and fear, knowing that emotions are just a part of this human thing we're all here doing. Together.

And that's what we're here for too, for you, should you ever want to have this experience again.

With love,

Jillian

BTW: It's not all misery business. Looking forward to being a full-spectrum human with you...join the next event.
